SXSW 2024 moves free Saturday concerts indoors ahead of severe weather in Austin
As Texas prepares for severe weather starting Friday and lingering throughout the weekend, South by Southwest is moving some of its outdoor concerts inside. Here's what you need to know.
SXSW moves Saturday's free concerts indoors
The film festival had planned to host free outdoor concerts at Auditorium Shores, in a show called "KUTX Rock the Shores." However, in light of severe weather expected in the area, SXSW has moved the concerts to Palm Door on Sixth, an indoor venue.
The free, family-friendly event will now run from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, according to KUTX's website. A lineup of performers is also listed, though it is subject to change:
- 2:00 p.m.: The Dinosaur’s Skin
- 2:30 p.m.: Sabrina Ellis & Andrew Cashen (A Giant Dog)
- 3:00 p.m.: SaulPaul
- 3:30 p.m.: Storey Littleton
- 4:00 p.m.: Pepperminte Patti Collins
- 4:30 p.m.: Parker Woodland
- 5:30 p.m.: Waco Brothers
The updated location was detailed in an email from the event organizers. The correspondence did not mention changes to Friday's concerts at Auditorium Shores.
