Country music star Sam Hunt has been indicted following his arrest on DUI charges in Nashville late last year.

A Davidson County grand jury indicted Hunt, 36, last week. Court papers show he will face charges of DUI and an open container violation in connection with his Nov. 21, 2019, arrest by Metro Nashville police.

The "Body Like a Back Road" singer is accused of driving the wrong way on Ellington Parkway about 4 a.m. before exiting at Cleveland Street towards Gallatin Avenue.

Sam Hunt's "Hard To Forget" is a nominee for Male Video of the Year.

Although no one was injured in the incident, callers to Metro Nashville Emergency Communications Center expressed disbelief and concern over it, 911 tapes show.

"I'm on Ellington Parkway going south and there's an SUV on the wrong side," one caller said, in a call recorded by Metro Nashville 911.

"It was just driving like there was nothing wrong. It almost hit me head on," another said. "It was just driving."

Sobriety tests were conducted in the field and were captured on an MNPD dash cam. According to an arrest affidavit, Hunt tested with a blood alcohol level of 0.173, well over the legal limit of 0.08.

After his arrest, Hunt apologized for his actions on social media.

"It was a poor and selfish decision," he wrote. "And I apologize to everyone who was unknowingly put at risk and let down by it. It won’t happen again."
